Arts and Music

St. Paul students are given a well-rounded education in arts & crafts and music. Each classroom includes Art in its weekly routine, where a variety of methods are used for expressing creative ideas visually.

St Paul's beginner band.Music is woven throughout the program. The 5th -8th grade Youth Choir has a comprehensive music class twice a week (theory, appreciation, and choir performance). The Cherub Choir (K - 4th grade) and the Youth Choir both prepare songs to participate in Sunday morning worship several times a year each.  For special occasions (beginning of the year, Lutheran Schools Week, etc.) the entire student body sings together.

Each year all the grades prepare a Christmas Worship Service to share the message that God has come to us to save us.

The lower (K-4) and upper (5-8) grades alternate preparing and performing a musical Operetta each year in the spring.

St. Paul offers an instrumental band program for beginner and intermediate – advanced players as part of Valley Lutheran High School’s Elementary Band program. Beyond playing on several occasions for worship services,  these students also have the opportunity to participate in a large-group band experience by joining with the other grade schools in the Valley Luth. Elem. Band program to create the Valley Jr. Symphonic Band, which performs twice a year.

St. Paul participates yearly in the Bay-Thumb Area Lutheran Schools Music Festival.  The Youth Choir performs as well as soloists and small vocal and instrumental ensembles as students desire.

For times and dates for any of these activities, please refer to the School Calendar.
